Residential Dressmaking Courses |

Unique
Image is currently arranging four 2-day and three 3-day courses.
These will cover Cushions, Sheer Fabrics, Pattern Cutting, Cutting
on the Bias, Drafting & Design, Finesse with Fastenings &
A Jacket in 3-Days. Additional Dressmaking courses and Sewing
Machine/Overlocker courses will be offered according to demand.
These will all take place here at my premises in the heart of
the charming South Lakes market town of Ulverston. All types of
accommodation can be arranged, many within walking distance of
the workshop. Ample car parking facilities are available and the
railway station is only a 10-minute walk. Sewing machines &
overlockers are provided on all courses. |

In
addition to being a fully qualified teacher with a Degree in Education
specialising in Dress and Textiles, I also possess City and Guilds
qualifications in Embroidery. I have more than 20 years experience
in teaching this subject area to all ages, currently from 9 to
90. I was for many years Joint Chief Examiner for “A”
level Textiles with the Welsh Joint Education Committee, and I
continue to examine G.C.S.E. Textiles Technology for AQA. I currently
teach City and Guilds students at my premises for Furness College
in Barrow, and I am also a tutor for Ulverston Adult Education. |

Classes
and workshops are conducted in the most convivial of surroundings
where instruction and advice are given in a relaxed and friendly
manner, on an individual basis within the group. I have adequate
space for cutting out and sufficient machines and overlockers
for groups of up to 12 people. The individual is able to select
their own project and there is no pressure regarding the speed
of working. |

This
is an exceptional opportunity to incorporate a holiday in the
South Lakes with a course or a one/two-day workshop/s. Apart
from the regular classes and workshops currently on offer, specialised
courses can be arranged for WI Groups either at week-ends or
